Topic: THE HUMAN LIBRARY

( Everyone is an open Book)

Anchor Scripture:” Ye are lights of the world, A city set on a hill that cannot be hidden”. Mathew 5:14 KJV

INTRODUCTION

The human library is a library where you can borrow a person for 30 minutes to tell you their life story.

It originated from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Two brothers" Ronni and Danny Aberge, and colleagues started the concept in the year 2000 after their friend was killed.

ORIGIN

According to "Ronni Abergel, the human library is a safe place where one can experience diversity, learn about ways we are different from each other,r and engage with other people we normally would never meet.

"These people challenge our unconscious bias". The human library is now in over 80 countries. The aim is " inclusion and Diversity.

According to the proponents, i"t's helps quality journalism in a time of misinformation and too much information. Quality journalism is more crucial than ever."

Colossians 4:6 says Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt so that you may know how to answer everyone. It's simply knowing what to say to people you meet by using the right words.

You don't judge people you have never because of what others say about them. I used to have this friend who would not want you to talk to anyone she wasn't on good terms with. Once you start talking to the person, yo you automatically enter her red book.

SELF REFLECTION:

If you were to be a" book", would someone find you interesting?

Would they love your diction?. ( Your choice of words for them).

Would they judge you by your cover (countenance, height, race, tribe, ethnicity, color, gender, nationality?.

Would people like to read you over and over again..

At the human library, if you were to be a reader, would you judge people by their "cover'( race, gender, nationality, etc.)

CONCLUSION:

Prejudice against people you have not met is wrong because you do not know where they are coming from or what they have been through

LESSON::

The human library helps itself by reflecting by assuming if you were to be the book being read..

If you were a book, would people find you interesting?
