The 2025 Essential Skills

Anchor Scripture:

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." - Romans 12:2 (KJV)

According to a Google report, the essential skills every resume should highlight in 2025 include the following:

- Leadership and Social Influence

- Stress Tolerance

- Flexibility and Troubleshooting

- Persuasion and Negotiation

- Analytical Reasoning and Technology Use

As we consider upgrading our skills in this new year, these are important areas to focus on.

However, as believers, if the heavens were to ask us to submit our resumes for the new year, would we qualify? To work in the Kingdom, we need the following attributes:

- **Faith and Perseverance:** Can we stand strong in the face of opposition to our faith, or do we hide our identity as Christians?

- **Compassion:** Are we compassionate not only to fellow believers but also to non-believers?

- **Integrity:** Can our integrity withstand the tests of time?

- **Charity:** Are our charitable deeds genuine, or do we perform them for recognition? What about our love for the world?

- **Selflessness:** Are we willing to go out of our way to serve the Lord, even when it is inconvenient for us?

Our assignment today is to take a moment to critically evaluate our "resumes" for this year and see if we meet these qualifications. The good news is that, unlike the world, which revises skills every five years, our core qualities remain the same. We can, however, sharpen and refine them to improve.

Let us go to God and earnestly seek more grace to conform to His purpose this year.

Lord, give us the grace to fully align with Your purpose this year, in Jesus' name. Amen.
