Anchor Scripture: James 4:6 KJV

"But he giveth more grace; wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."

Welcome to 2026 and Happy New year. Be blessed as you read in Jesus' name. Amen.

I heard a story about an anointed man of God some time ago. He was so anointed that, whenever he was on the crusade ground, diverse miracles of healing and deliverance would taken place even before any serious ministration from him.

However, there came a time when he hesitated to serve as a guest minister unless he was among other well-known ministers. He also began to feel reluctant to attend to people whom he deemed not notable enough in their offices. Despite this, he continued to perform great miracles.

One day, at a crusade, he began boasting that he could heal anyone he wanted without giving God the glory. At that moment, the anointing left him.

When he returned home, he became paralyzed; it was as though all the demons he had cast out of others came back to him. His condition was undiagnosed; he could neither walk, eat, nor move—he was like a vegetable.

James 4:6 teaches us that God does not want us to be proud. He actively resists pride and is eager for glory. He is pleased when we recognize Him as the provider of all things.

REFLECTION: Let us learn from this story and examine our ways before God as we continue this reflection tomorrow.

PRAYERS: Eternal Rock of ages, we recognize you as the source of all things.

We agree that without you, we are nothing. Please, give us the grace to acknowledge you in our lives in Jesus name, amen.

PRIDE - THE ABORTER OF DESTINY (2)

Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 16:18 KJV- “Pride goes before a fall.”

As we continue from yesterday's story, may you be blessed as you read this in Jesus' name. Amen.

BIBLICAL ACCOUNTS:

King Saul was an anointed king, but he lost the throne due to several sins, one of which was overstepping his boundaries by taking on a priestly role from the prophet Samuel without God's approval. As a result, the Spirit of God departed from him (1 Samuel 13:1-15). Although he still reigned as king of Israel, he had lost God's favor.

Similarly, Satan was originally known as Lucifer, meaning "Bearer of Light" or the "Morning Star" in Hebrew. He was the overall commander in heaven, but the sin of pride led to his fall from grace and his eventual descent into hell.

Friends, whenever we begin to attribute our success solely to our own efforts, pride begins to take hold of us. The next step could be our downfall. This is when we witness stories of grace turning to grass.

May the Lord provide us with deeper understanding in everything. So what do we learn today?

LESSONS:

- Give the Lord glory in all things.

- Recognize that He is the provider of all things.

- Pride is a killer of destiny; if you want to fulfill your potential, acknowledge Him as your source.

-In this year, if you must make an impact in any area of life, resist and avoid pride.

-Don't be arrogant to God and man. Arrogance is the twin sister of rebellion

PRAYERS:

Eternal Rock of Ages, we acknowledge that we are nothing without You, and all we have comes from You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
