Topic: Beware of the Crabby Syndrome

Anchor Scripture: 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NIV)**: "Some say Paul's letters are demanding and forceful, but in person, he is weak, and his speeches are worthless."

Hello, everyone! Welcome to today's post, which we're calling "The Crabby Syndrome." I hope that as we go through this together, you find understanding and inspiration in Jesus' name, amen.

Have you ever watched live crabs together in a big open bowl? If you haven't, give it a try sometime! It’s fascinating. You’ll notice that whenever one tries to escape, the others pull it back down. It’s as if they don’t want anyone to break free, and that's what I like to call the "crabby syndrome."

People who display this syndrome often struggle to celebrate the successes of others. Instead, they tend to focus on the mistakes, forgetting that we’re all human and prone to error. They might find it easy to criticize when things go wrong in someone else's life, be it in marriages, careers, or even ministries. We see this a lot, especially on social media, where some folks seem to take pleasure in bringing others down instead of lifting them up.

BIBLICAL EXAMPLES

Unfortunately, we even find this in our churches. Take Nehemiah for example: when he rallied the people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, he faced ridicule from Samballat and Tobiah. Yet he persisted, and the walls were rebuilt! Similarly, Apostle Paul had to address critics who judged him based on his appearance and speech rather than his heartfelt message. He wanted them to understand that his actions reflected his words

OUR ASSIGNMENTS TODAY:

Let’s take care to avoid catching the crabby syndrome ourselves. Instead, let’s focus on encouraging one another and correcting with love.

REFLECTION: Let's meditate on today's message and Ask God for help to see beautiful things about others in Jesus' name, amen.

PRAYERS: Our Lord and our God, please, give us the grace to Love one another and celebrate other people's success in Jesus' name, amen.
