Anchor Scripture: “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” - Psalm 90:12 KJV

In the middle of 2024, a video circulated widely on social media showcasing a stunning mansion adorned in gold, nestled in the northern part of Nigeria. Built in the Eighties, this house belonged to a Muslim man who had seemingly poured his entire fortune into creating a home for his family, including his wife, mother, children, and domestic staff.

Yet, as the video captured our attention, it became clear that no one was living there at that moment, and the whereabouts of the man’s children were unknown. Many voices online questioned whether the owner had extended his wealth to help the less fortunate or if he had kept it all to himself. Some even suggested that the government take over the mansion. While the truth remains elusive, it's essential to remember that perhaps this man chose to support others quietly, in ways we may never fully recognize.

Our focus today revolves around the reflections on life and its fleeting nature—echoed in the words of King Solomon, who, despite his immense wisdom and wealth, acknowledged that life often feels like a journey filled with vanity. As expressed in Ecclesiastes 3:19, both humans and animals face the same ultimate destiny: death.

Lesson: As Christians, we are called to lead lives that clearly reflect our devotion to Christ, serving as beacons of hope and encouragement to those around us.

Embracing a selfless lifestyle should be our aim, for we must remember that our time on this earth is precious and finite, regardless of how many years we have.

Counsel When we embrace the truth of our anchor scripture, we come to realize that all we have is a blessing from the Lord. It is He who empowers us to attain wealth, not merely our intelligence, skills, or hard work.

Reflection: Taking a moment to deeply reflect on today’s message illuminates the significance of living a life filled with compassion and giving. When we open our hearts to help others, several beautiful things unfold:

* Our lives become more richly blessed, though these blessings may not always manifest as material wealth. Inner peace, good health, and favor in life are treasures that cannot be measured in gold.

The Bible teaches us that when we give to those in need, it is as if we are lending to God Himself, who promises to repay us abundantly.proverbs 19:17(paraphrased)

Helping others brings true joy; I feel an immense sense of excitement and fulfillment whenever I have the chance to bring smiles to the faces of those around me.

Prayers: Today, Lord, we humbly ask for hearts filled with compassion towards the poor and vulnerable. May we become instruments of your love and generosity in the world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
