Anchor Scripture:** “Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

2 Timothy 2:3 (KJV)

The Inner Force

I once heard a sermon about the training of soldiers, emphasizing that when their physical bodies can no longer carry them, they are taught to rely on their minds. This inner strength or force enables them to confront serious challenges with resilience.

Similarly, Christians are called soldiers of Christ. We are trained to endure, understanding that whatever situation we face today is only temporary.

Many years ago, I participated in a national program in my country, Nigeria, known as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This program is a mandatory requirement for every tertiary graduate in Nigeria. We spent three weeks in camp for orientation and skill acquisition. During this time, we undertook a physical challenge called endurance trekking. Many participants gave up along the way, but I persevered. At one point, I had to rely on my mental strength rather than my physical abilities. All we were told was to focus on the finish line, and many of us successfully completed the trek.

Today's devotion encourages us to endure whatever we are doing, as our efforts will eventually bear fruit if we do not give up.

It’s still early in the year to start complaining or wanting to give up on our projects, relationships, or careers. Let us ask God for new insights and ideas, consider changing mentors, or make necessary adjustments.

**Our Assignment:** Today, let us stay focused on our goals. The plan of God will work for us in Jesus' name. We must align ourselves with His will.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we ask for more grace and strength as we abide in Your will, in Jesus' name. Amen.
