The warmth of her mother's familiar smile was the first thing Amanda saw as she slowly drifted back into wakefulness. For a moment, she thought she was still immersed in a dream — until she heard her name, soft as a whisper, followed by a gentle tap on her shoulder. Sleep pulled her back under, heavy and sweet, until her mother's voice grew tender but firm. "Amanda." This time, her eyes fluttered open for good. She had no idea how long she had slept, and honestly, she didn't mind. After pouring her heart out to her mother well into the early morning hours, her body had surrendered to rest.

What amazed Amanda most was her mother's energy — this beautiful, God-fearing woman had stayed up all night, not to watch television or scroll her phone, but to be there for her daughter. That was love in its purest form. Over cups of tea gone cold, Mama had spoken truth gently but clearly into Amanda's wounded heart — the kind of truth only a praying mother can deliver. "Baby, a broken engagement is far better than a broken marriage." The words had settled deep. Letting go of Alex wasn't going to be easy, but somewhere between midnight and dawn’s first light, Amanda had finally made her peace with it.

Whether it’s with a toxic career or relationships, beloved sister, it's never too late to turn back from anything that is not giving you peace. No matter how far you have gone down a bad road, the best option is always to go back, not to go forward.
