Anchor Scripture: Ecclesiastes 11:1

*"He who observes the wind shall not sow, and he that regards the clouds shall not reap."*

In the rich tapestry of faith, the remarkable journey of Reinhard Bonnke, a renowned evangelist, preacher, and missionary from 1940 to 2019, stands out as a beacon of hope and inspiration. His life was marked by a powerful story that illustrates the importance of perseverance in sharing the Gospel.

Imagine a bustling scene where a preacher orchestrated a grand crusade, pouring his heart into its promotion. Vibrant advertisements filled the airwaves of television and radio, while colorful leaflets blanketed the nation, calling souls to gather. When the highly anticipated day finally arrived, an enthusiastic crowd thronged the venue, creating an electric atmosphere charged with expectation. Amidst tales of miraculous healings and powerful testimonies, the moment of truth arrived: the altar call.

Yet, in stark contrast to the spectacle preceding it, an unsettling silence enveloped the gathering. Not a single person ventured forward in response to the call for salvation. Even those who had testified to incredible healings remained unmoved, their hearts closed or perhaps overwhelmed by disbelief. After the preacher made a heartfelt third appeal, the tension hung heavy in the air—until a young boy, just nine years old, summoned the courage to step forward and seek prayer. This boy would later grow to become the iconic Reinhard Bonnke, destined to impact millions.

THE MESSAGE OF TODAY:

The story of Reinhard Bonnke serves as a powerful encouragement for Christians who desire to share their faith online yet often feel discouraged by the lack of engagement. It's all too common to find posts lamenting low interaction, with voices of frustration expressing disappointment over what seems like a futile effort. However, it’s essential to remember that the seeds you plant may take time to flourish, and the impact of your words can be felt in ways you cannot yet see.

I recall vividly a conversation with an individual who confided in me about his personal struggles. He revealingly shared how a specific post I made that day resonated deeply with him—it spoke directly to the burdens he was carrying, the shame he felt weighed down by. In connecting through messenger, he experienced a profound release, obtaining strength through the sharing of his story.

Ecclesiastes 11:1 reminds us, Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days."* Just think, if Reinhard Bonnke had never received that initial prayer of salvation, perhaps countless others would not have been reached by the message he would go on to spread. This entire crusade may well have been orchestrated for that one precious soul whom God sought to use. Those who witnessed Bonnke’s ministry can attest to how mightily God used him to not only lead individuals to salvation but to usher in miraculous encounters of divine intervention.
