SHE WASTED HER DIVINE OPPORTUNITY, YOU WON'T WASTE YOURS

Anchor Scripture: :Psalm 102:13 (NKJV) - “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.”

INTRODUCTION:

The objective today is to learn how not to waste Divine Opportunity, which comes infrequently. Once wasted, it may take the special grace of God to regain it. Let’s examine a story that illustrates this.

WASTED DIVINE TIMING IS EQUAL TO WASTED OPPORTUNITY.

In 2005, a woman attended an event where the First Lady of her country was present. As soon as the program ended, she rushed forward to greet the First Lady, calling out, “Sister STAR! Sister STAR!” However, the detail officers and security personnel quickly intervened to stop her from getting closer.

The First Lady, whose real name was Stella, was surprised. She recognized that for someone to call her “Sister STAR,” they must have known her during her high school days. The woman approached and reminded Stella of their past connection. The First Lady was pleasantly surprised to see her, as the woman seemed in need of financial help. The woman expressed that she had been praying for an opportunity to meet her, and she believed God had answered her prayer.

The First Lady then asked, “Name one thing you want me to do for you now?” The woman replied, “Anything.” The First Lady repeated her question, and again, the woman answered, “Anything.”

At that point, the First Lady instructed one of her aides to give the woman an envelope containing some cash. Additionally, she provided her personal phone number, allowing the woman to call her anytime, but she cautioned her to wait for about two weeks before doing so, explaining that she wouldn’t be able to speak with her if she called before that time.

THE OPPORTUNITY THAT NEVER CAME:

The very next day, the First Lady traveled to Italy for a liposuction procedure and tragically died on the operating table.

WHAT IS DIVINE TIMING?

It is the time for one's destiny to be fulfilled.

It represents Heaven's set time.

It is one's allocated or allotted time.

It is an opportune time or period.

It can be a defining moment from Heaven to bless you.

It relates to the time of salvation.

It symbolizes a time of rescue.

It is your defining moment.

It represents a time of angelic visitation.

It is Heaven's time to announce you.

It is a divine visitation.

BIBLE CHARACTERS THAT ENCOUNTERED THEIR TIMING:

1. Mary, the Mother of Jesus (Luke 1:42): Mary met her divine timing when the angel Gabriel announced to her, “Blessed are you among women.” This was her divine visitation from the Lord, confirming her selection.

2. The Widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17): Her divine appointment occurred when she fed the prophet Elijah during a severe drought. Despite having very little, she chose to feed him, leading to a miracle that provided her family with sustenance until the famine ended.

3. Naaman, the Syrian Soldier (2 Kings 5:1-27):Naaman received his hour of salvation when Prophet Elisha instructed him to immerse himself seven times in the Jordan River, resulting in his healing from leprosy. Had he refused, he would have succumbed to his illness.

4 . The City of Samaria ( 2 Kings 27:1-20):*The prophecy of a food surplus by the prophet Elisha was fulfilled within twenty-four hours. If the three lepers had not ventured outside the city gates, the miracle would not have transpired.

5. Our Lord and Savior (Luke 22:42):

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus told His Father, “If you are willing, take this cup from me.” This reflected His pivotal moment in fulfilling His destiny.

HOW NOT TO MISS YOUR DEFINING TIME:

Obedience: When seeking God’s help, it’s crucial to obey His words. As stated in Amos 3:7, “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets.” When He reveals His plan, just obey.

Be Prayerful: Pray consistently until you receive your answers.

-Discernment: This is an invaluable spiritual gift while waiting for Heaven's visitation. Defining moments can arrive unexpectedly and often through unlikely sources.

CONCLUSION:

Everyone has an appointment in life, though the timing differs for each individual. It's important to recognize and seize these divine moments
