Welcome to today’s devotion! May you be abundantly blessed as you read, in Jesus' name. Amen.
A couple shared their heartfelt testimony during their baby’s dedication at church. The woman began, saying, “It was nearly a year after our wedding, and I couldn't understand why I hadn’t conceived yet. Though I felt a little worried, my husband reassured me that it was too early to be concerned. After a year had passed with no results, we decided to visit the hospital. The tests indicated that we were both fine.
As two years passed, I began to feel exhausted. We consulted specialists and tried two more hospitals, all without success. During this time, my husband and I fervently prayed. Desperate, we dedicated ourselves more to prayer and attended church programs focused on fruitfulness.
One evening at such a program, I received a revelation in a dream. I saw my husband and I celebrating our wedding, with gifts being handed to us. Among those gifts, I recognized a brown package. That was the last thing I saw before waking up.” She turned to her husband.
When my wife shared the dream, we checked the gifts we hadn’t opened yet. She quickly spotted the brown package and exclaimed, “This is the one I saw!” We opened it, only to find an empty shell of a groundnut (peanut) inside. Confused, we brought it to our pastor, who explained that it symbolized “fruitlessness,” suggesting we could remain childless as long as that shell stayed in our home. He prayed for us, and this is the evidence.” He smiled as he lifted the baby higher.

What Is an Opaque Blessing?
An opaque blessing presents challenges. It can be unclear and deceptive; what seems like a blessing may conceal a curse in disguise.
Our anchor scripture reminds us that only blessings from God or those given with pure intentions ensure peace of mind. Thus, it’s crucial to discern the gifts we accept; it’s perfectly acceptable to decline certain gifts that make you uneasy. An opaque blessing can be elusive and misleading, much like "Greek gifts." Always pray for good and perfect gifts, whether they come from God or through righteous individuals.
Reflection: Meditate on today’s devotion and ask God to illuminate any areas in your life where you may have accepted deceptive blessings.
Prayer: Dear Father, we seek Your protection from evil influences and ask for the spirit of discernment so we do not fall into temptation, in Jesus' name. Amen.
