Topic: HE STOLE THE TRUTH
Anchor Scripture: Isaiah 55:7-11 KJV: “Let the wicked man forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
A group of armed robbers broke into an elderly couple's home and stole some valuables, including an old box. A few weeks later, the leader of the gang returned to the house, now inhabited by a new resident. Curiosity drove him to ask about the elderly couple, only to learn they had moved.
Overcome with emotion, he began to cry. When the new resident inquired about his tears, he shared the story of the robbery and the box he had kept, believing it to hold hidden treasures.
To his dismay, upon opening the box, he found only a cassette tape. Yet, inexplicably compelled, he decided to listen. As the tape played, a sermon titled “THE TRUTH” echoed through the air, as though the preacher was speaking directly to him. It concluded with a message of hope: despite having exhausted God's grace, another chance awaited him.
Moved by the truth he heard, he returned the box, sought forgiveness, and resolved to change his life. What a powerful testament to redemption!
WHAT LESSONS:
Our anchor scripture reminds us that great joy fills heaven when a sinner repents. Even the most serious sins can be forgiven, as Jeremiah tells us—God desires repentance over death.
REFLECTIONS:
In reflection today, let’s take to heart the lesson in Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV. We must lay aside every hindrance and run with perseverance the path set before us, guided by God’s wisdom as we confront past temptations.
PRAYERS:
O Lord, I surrender my life to you. I acknowledge my sins. Please cleanse me with your blood, renew my spirit, and write my name in the Book of Life. Thank you, Father. In Jesus' name, Amen.
