Topic: He Gives Ability (FOXPZ)

Anchor Scripture: Daniel 1:17 (NIV) “God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams.”

Be blessed as you read today’s devotional in Jesus' name, amen. It is widely recognized that women tend to communicate more than men, and a fascinating aspect of this lies in the protein known as FOXPZ, which is present in greater levels in women’s brains.

Research reveals that, on average, women utter about 20,000 words per day, whereas men speak around 7,000 words. What a remarkable difference that is! This disparity highlights a unique aspect of God’s design.

In His infinite wisdom, God equipped women with a gift for communication. Women often serve as the primary voices within their families, engaging richly with partners and children, which may explain the prevalence of female teachers. This innate ability is a testament to divine purpose.

Today, let us focus on using this gift to glorify God.

Biblical Example:

As indicated in our anchor scripture, God had plans for the four Hebrew young men, especially Daniel, whom He endowed with the extraordinary ability to interpret dreams. This invaluable gift enabled Daniel to serve in prominent roles across four successive governments. When we harness our unique gifts for good, we can achieve unimaginable heights.

Our Lesson Today:

It is essential to use our gifts or abilities for a positive purpose. While women may be more verbally expressive, God desires our words to uplift rather than harm. Regardless of our unique abilities, we should dedicate them to advancing humanity and serving God.

In Proverbs, we encounter four types of speech:

1. Controlled Speech: Those who ponder before they speak, acknowledging the power of silence.

2. Caring Speech: Individuals who exude compassion and encouragement.

3. Convincing Speech: This category can involve harmful motives, gossip, and slander.

4. Careless Speech: Those quick to anger, prone to cursing, and who lie easily.

Reflection:

Let us reflect deeply on this message and examine our hearts. While we all have diverse gifts, today we focus on communication. May the Lord guide us to wield our words wisely in Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayers:

Almighty God, we seek your grace to help us use our abilities in ways that glorify You. In Jesus' name, amen.
