"But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept."

Welcome to the beautiful redemption story of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, He is risen! This is a powerful reminder that we have the hope of eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ. There is indeed resurrection after death, and Christ became the first fruit—the first begotten of the dead. Hooray! What does the Resurrection of Christ mean for us believers?

Since we died with Him in baptism, we shall also share a new life with Him in heaven. Because He is alive, He is pleading for us at the right hand of the Father. He is now far above all powers and principalities, above every name in heaven and on earth. He has been given a new name; at the mention of that name, demons bow, and sicknesses bow.

What a privilege it is to belong to Christ! As we celebrate this reminder of Resurrection Sunday, let’s distance ourselves from those things that bring shame to Christ.

Let’s remember His infinite love for us through His suffering and agony on the cross of Calvary.
