Topic: Godly Resources Make Our Voices Heard
Anchor Scripture: Read Deuteronomy 18:8
Thank you, Father, for another beautiful day to share Your words, in Jesus' name, amen. Today's scripture reminds us that God gives us resources to ensure our voices are heard. In a world with many competing voices, why should Christians speak up?
To understand this, let’s look at a story from Ecclesiastes 9:14-16 (NIV):
*"There was once a small city with only a few people in it. A powerful king came against it, surrounded it, and built huge siege works against it. Now there lived a poor but wise man in that city, and he saved the city with his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man. So I said, 'Wisdom is better than strength.' But the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heard."*
In this story, a wise man saved his city, but he went unrecognized. Someone else may have taken his advice to the king and received the credit instead.
Wisdom is better than strength because it brings life and influence. However, without the right resources to support that wisdom, our voices can go unheard.
Consider a situation in an African family. They gathered for an important meeting, but it could not start because they were waiting for someone. Although he wasn’t the oldest, he had the financial resources needed to sway the decisions. Everyone waited for him because money gave him a voice.
Lessons Learned:
1. Having resources earns respect.
2. Wealth enhances your voice.
3. Resources are crucial for God’s work, such as crusades and outreach.
In short, a lack of resources can silence a voice. For instance, a pastor with the Holy Spirit may want to organize a crusade but struggles due to financial shortages. This may cause people to take him less seriously.
The Counsel: While we pray for our voices to be heard, we should also ask God for wisdom to acquire resources. God will provide resources hidden in darkness to amplify our voices. Refer to Isaiah 45:1-5. Some treasures remain hidden until God reveals them to us. May the Lord open our eyes to this wealth, in Jesus' name, amen.
Reflection:*Take a moment to think about whether you struggle to be heard among your colleagues or in your family. Even as a head of the household, a lack of resources might make it hard for you to be heard.
Our Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for the words You have given us today. We give You all the glory, in Jesus' name. Lord, as You promised in Isaiah 45, open our eyes to see the abundant wealth hidden in secret places, in Jesus' name, amen.
