Topic: He Has You Covered

Anchor Scripture: Deuteronomy 29:5

“I have led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.”

Welcome to this beautiful day. I feel led to share two personal stories because, during challenging times, we often think we are alone. Yet, we are never truly alone—God is always with us as our mighty protector.

In a difficult period, my family and I experienced financial struggles that shattered our confidence. We had to make do with food and water we wouldn’t normally choose, living in ways we never imagined. Despite my attempts to read the Bible, I found it hard to focus. Frustrated, I began to grumble against God, feeling I had done everything expected of me—praying, fasting, and giving to charity.

Then, in a quiet moment, I heard a soft voice reminding me of our anchor Scripture. I opened my Bible and read it again, asking the Holy Spirit for understanding. In that gentle voice, He said, “Daughter, I built a hedge around you all this time. Throughout these years, you and your family have never faced health challenges. You are all in good health.”

I realized that despite our situation, we had not fallen ill. I remembered visiting someone in the hospital during that trying time and seeing many people suffering from health issues.

I understood that I had taken God’s grace for granted. I turned to God and sought His mercy.

Soon after, by His mercy, our financial situation began to improve. One of my first steps was to locate a private hospital nearby, as we were not enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), because I felt the government hospital was too far.

The Lord gently reminded me again of our anchor Scripture, highlighting how He had carried my family and me through nearly two years of hardship without any health issues, even when others, who were seemingly better nourished, suffered. He queried me, Why do you want to start wasting finances now? What happened to the government hospital? Even if you must change, why can't you wait until things significantly improve for your family

What can we learn from today's devotion? Many Christians fail to recognize God’s grace until they experience a loss. Reflect on your challenges; instead of dwelling on them, take a moment to consider the areas of your life that are flourishing. You will see that God has not forgotten you; He has been carrying you all along.

Some wonder why the Israelites didn’t need new clothes and shoes during their forty years in the wilderness as they grew. God provided them with angelic food—couldn’t He also provide materials for new garments and shoes?

God longs to protect us; He is a loving Father who wishes to show us His kindness and mercy. Whatever you are facing today, remember that He has you covered. While situations may have seemed dire, it is by God’s grace that you are here.

Reflection Take time to prayerfully think about your situation today. Thank God for where you are now, for who you are becoming, and for where He is leading you, even amid challenges in your health or other areas of your life. He has great plans for you—allow Him full control over your life.

Prayers: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your mercy and for carrying us, even when we cannot see your powerful hand. Please forgive us for taking Your grace for granted in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
