Anchor Scripture: Matthew 10:39 KJV
“He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
This is a funny story about a man who went to church one Sunday and gave his life to Christ. The next day, some armed robbers came to his house. They shouted, “Bring all your money!” The man calmly replied, “I don’t have any money.”
The leader of the robbers got angry and pointed his gun at the man, saying, “Your money or your life?”
The man looked at them and said, “Even that life is no longer mine.” The robbers were confused and asked, “What do you mean?”
The man smiled and said, “Because I gave it to Jesus Christ yesterday.” Very funny!
When you become a born-again Christian, your life belongs to God.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GIVE HIM YOUR LIFE
This means your personal "will" is gone; now God's "will" becomes your will.
You don’t choose a career or start a business just because it’s popular; instead, you ask God for guidance first.
You also need to let God lead you in all aspects of your life. This means you don’t marry someone just based on looks or wealth, as circumstances can change.
God has a purpose for everyone and everything He created. He wants us to fulfill our purpose on Earth. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “I know the plans I have for you, to give you hope and a good future.” Jeremiah 1:5 also reminds us that before He created you, He already knew you and planned good things for you. But you need to trust Him and let Him guide your decisions.
God’s plans might not always seem good at first, but if you stay committed, you will see the benefits. This could mean leaving certain friends, bad habits, or jobs.
God understands you fully because He created you. Let Him take control of your life today, and you will find peace in living according to your true purpose.
REFLECTION: Are we living according to His purpose? Let’s take a moment to assess ourselves today.
PRAYERS: Lord, please give us the strength to surrender our lives to you so we can live in your purpose today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
