Anchor Scripture: James 2:15-17 KJ

“If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them, not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?”

Welcome to May! Happy new month! May you be blessed as we continue our journey of faith. Yesterday, we learned about a brother who was truly hungry, not sick. Today, we focus on the essential truth that our faith must be accompanied by good deeds; otherwise, it is ineffective. Our anchor scripture reminds us that if we see a brother or sister in need and merely offer words of blessing without action, our faith falls short.

EXAMPLE OF RAHAB

Rahab ,the prostitute ,serves as a powerful example from the Bible. She had unwavering faith in God's plan by hiding the spies, and her courageous actions led to her salvation and that of her household, as illustrated in James 2:25.

IN OUR CONTEMPORARY WORLD TODAY:

When we feel unwell, we turn to the hospital, believing in the healing power of medicine. This illustrates how true faith is always accompanied by action.

OUR LESSON TODAY

It is vital to ensure our actions are rooted in faith. Remember, faith without corresponding action is lifeless.

REFLECTION

Let us take a moment to reflect on our lives and identify areas where our faith may not be translated into action. With determination, we can work towards change, trusting in the Lord’s guidance.

PRAYERS

Dear Lord, grant us the grace to always support our faith with actions in Jesus' name. Amen.
