CHRISTIAN TREASURE DEVOTION
DON'T FOLLOW THE MULTITUDE, RESIST THE HIGHWAY TO HELL.
Anchor Scripture: Ezekiel 18:28 (NLT): “They will live because they thought it over and decided to turn from their sins. Such people will not die.”
INTRODUCTION: What if, in a night dream, you received a revelation about a massive exodus of people headed to hell? And there was an announcement: “Out of Jehovah's love and mercy, the heavens have decided to close the highway for a while.” How would you react to this news? The purpose of this devotion is to explore whether hellfire is real and if God desires anyone to end up there. How far can God's grace go in these end times?
IS HELLFIRE REAL?
Recently, I watched an interview with a man of God called Apostle Takem (of the Flaming Fire and Sword Ministry). He shared a revelation he had years ago about the highway to hell. According to him, he saw a massive exodus of people traveling on the highway, with a signpost that read, “Highway to Hell.” Remarkably, some of these people were clutching Bibles as if they were going to church.
At one point, some individuals glimpsed what was happening at the front and tried to push back into the crowd to turn around, but the force of the movement was so overwhelming that they couldn't turn back—they were pushed forward again. So, in response to the question in this heading: yes, hellfire is real.
DOES GOD STILL SHOW MERCY?
Yes, God still shows mercy even now. This is why Lamentations 3:22 speaks of the Lord’s mercy, which is new every morning. It is by that mercy that you and I are still alive today and given another chance at life, especially if you have been living in sin and need to change your ways.
Just like in our introduction, Jehovah has halted this massive exodus to hell by giving His Son for our sins, so we won't die under the law. Under Moses, the law was numerous, and it was impossible to fulfill all of them, which kept everyone in spiritual prison before faith came (Galatians 3:23). But with Jesus’ death, we were set free and made right with God.
EZEKIEL 18:28 TEACHING
The teaching in Ezekiel highlights three key points:
~ Repentance: If a sinner turns from their sins, God is more than ready to forgive.
~ God does not revel in anyone's sins; He doesn't want anyone to go to hell.
~ Sin is death, but a new life is possible if one leaves sin behind.
DID JEHOVAH PREPARE HELL FOR HUMANS?
Of course not. Hellfire was prepared for the devil and his demons after he fell from heaven through pride. The devil knows he is destined for hell and is seeking to take as many people with him as he can.
CONCLUSION: Jehovah does not want us to go to hell. His mercy is new every day, offering us fresh opportunities to live a new life in Christ.
PRAYERS: Thank you, Father, for your words today. Please, take all the glory. I ask, Lord, for the grace to live a full life in Jesus' name. Amen.
