CLAIM YOUR BLESSINGS — DON'T LEAVE THEM BEHIND
Psalm 2:8–9 (NIV)
"Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
A STORY THAT HIT CLOSE TO HOME
A few years ago, a financial company made a surprising announcement. Millions of dollars in dividends were sitting unclaimed — just waiting for their rightful owners. The company had sent out letters, opened a special online portal, and given clear instructions on how to collect. But people weren't responding.
When a follow-up report came out, the results were striking. Some account holders had since passed away. Some were unreachable. But others? They had received every single notice — and still did nothing.
The blessings were real. The instructions were clear. The accounts were full. But the money sat untouched.
Sister, does that make you think of anything?
You Have Unclaimed Blessings Waiting
God's blessings work the same way. He has already prepared an inheritance for you. It's already yours. But like those unclaimed dividends, your blessings won't automatically land in your lap — you have to reach out and receive them.
The "portal" God has opened for you is His Word, the Bible. Every promise He has made to you is written right there. And the beautiful thing? These aren't blessings you have to earn. Ephesians 1 makes it clear — God has freely given His children gifts simply because He loves them and wants to bless them.
One of those gifts is grace.
Grace isn't complicated. Think of it this way: grace is when God makes something hard look easy through you. What takes other people enormous effort, you accomplish with a quiet confidence that leaves people asking, "How did she do that?" That's grace at work. That's God showing up on your behalf.
But if you never ask — if you never reach out and claim what's already been set aside for you — you can't blame God for the gap. He's already made the provision. The question is whether you'll step forward to receive it.
DIGGING DEEPER:
Your Blank Check from God
When believers hear the phrase "blank check from God," most think of 1 Kings 3:5 — when God appeared to Solomon and said, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you." That's a powerful moment. But it's not the only one.
Psalm 2:8–9 is another open invitation. God says, "Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance." That means authority over everything that's been trying to hold you down — fear, financial stress, health battles, broken relationships, stalled careers. Whatever has been standing over you, demanding that you bow to it instead of to God — this verse gives you authority over it.
And verse 9 shows you how: you will break those things. Easily. With the power of God behind you.
That is your blank check. Write down the areas of your life where you feel defeated, overwhelmed, or lacking peace. Then pray over them boldly, knowing God has already given you the authority to overcome.
Jesus paid for everything you need in this life. Don't let the enemy convince you otherwise. Galatians 3:13 reminds us that the blessings of Abraham now belong to every believer through Christ Jesus. If you are in Christ — and you are — those blessings are yours.
5 WAYS TO ACCESS WHAT GID HAS FOR YOU
1. Feed on the Word daily.
The Bible is your spiritual food. Just like your body needs nourishment every day, so does your soul. Read it. Sit with it. Let it become part of how you think and see the world.
2. Find the promises that speak to your situation.
God's Word is full of specific promises. Search for the ones that apply to what you're walking through right now. Let them become your anchor.
3. Speak boldly and declare what God says about you.
There's a saying: a closed mouth is a closed destiny. Open yours. Declare God's promises over your life — out loud, every day. There's power in your spoken words when they're rooted in His truth.
4. Stay committed to the Word.
Don't just read it once and move on. Return to it. Stand on it even when you don't see results yet. Consistency matters.
5. Have faith, take action, and be patient.
Faith without action is incomplete (James 2:17). Trust what God says, take steps in that direction, and give Him the space to work in His timing.
A MOMENT TO REFLECTS
Have you ever wondered why some of your prayers seem to go unanswered? Is it possible that part of the answer is simply that you haven't reached out to receive what God has already prepared?
Take a moment today. Ask yourself honestly: What blessing have I been waiting for that I haven't actively sought?
JOURNALING
Write down one area of your life where you feel like something is missing or you need a breakthrough. Then pray specifically about it, using God's promises as your foundation.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking to me through Your Word today. Thank You for the blessings You have already prepared for me in Christ Jesus. Thank You for the open invitation — the blank check — to come to You and ask boldly according to Your promises.
I receive what You have for me today. I will not leave my blessings unclaimed. I trust You, I stand on Your Word, and I believe that as I ask in faith, You will answer. In Jesus' name, Amen.
