Topic: BEWARE OF OPTICAL ILLUSION
Anchor Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV — “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Welcome to today. Be blessed as you partake in Jesus' name, amen. The Bible urges us as believers not to be ignorant of the vices of the wicked, and this awareness is essential as we navigate our day together.
An optical illusion is one of the tools that the devil uses to instill fear in our hearts. An optical illusion occurs when the brain processes false information, causing you to perceive an image differently than it truly is. It’s guesswork by the brain. For instance, travelers in the desert often fall prey to illusions; a mirage of water or a river can appear, but once they arrive, there is nothing there.
HOW SATAN USES OPTICAL ILLUSION:
- UNBELIEF: Through doubt, the enemy can create false images in your mind. For example, if you are sick and trusting God for healing, you might suddenly envision someone who died from the same illness, casting doubt on your faith.
- FEAR: When faced with job loss, fears about the future can flood your mind. Images of homelessness may suddenly appear, leading to desperation and causing you to lose focus on God’s promises.
This is why Proverbs 4:23 urges us to guard our hearts with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life. What you think about in your heart shapes what you see.
However, our anchor scripture reminds us to focus on the living God, confidently believing that His promises are “yea” and “amen.” When the devil brings forth images of the impossible regarding your hopes, counter him with the Word of God that corresponds to your situation. The devil hates the truth.
OUR ASSIGNMENTS: Let’s stay focused on the living God by relying on His Word. Additionally, visualize the promises of God in your life coming to fruition.
The Word of God is the food of the spirit; let’s nourish our souls just as we nourish our physical bodies.
PRAYERS: We pray, Lord, to grant us the grace to guard our hearts in Jesus' name, amen, so that our minds can see only good things in Jesus' name, amen.
