Anchor Scripture: “Therefore Jesus told them, ‘My time is not yet here; for you any time will do.’” – John 7:6, NIV

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Christian Treasures Daily Devotions! May today’s message enrich and direct you.

In our previous devotion, we discussed the idea of “stealth technology” in faith—living with wisdom so that the adversary does not notice our intentions before God’s designated moment. Today, we will expand on that theme using John 7:6. Just as Jesus cautioned His disciples about the importance of timing, we must also learn to navigate with wisdom and safeguard the visions God has entrusted to us.

THE PRINCIPLE OF GOD’S TIMING

When Jesus stated, “My time has not yet come,” He demonstrated a vital spiritual principle: not every opportunity is the right one. Even though He had the power to perform miracles at any moment, He acted only in accordance with the Father’s will.

As believers, rushing ahead of God's timing may result in unnecessary conflicts, delays, or even the forfeiture of blessings. Wisdom requires us to discern when to proceed boldly and when to remain inconspicuous until God opens the appropriate door.

WHY GUARDING SECRETS MATTERS

Businesses grasp this principle very well. For instance, CocaCola secures its renowned recipe in a vault because they understand that revealing too much could harm their brand and business.

Similarly, we should protect the “recipes” of our lives—the dreams, visions, and projects that God has placed in our hearts. When we disclose our plans prematurely, others may try to replicate, undermine, or prematurely expose what God is still refining.

A Modern Example: The Comedian’s Mistake

Think about the story of a famous comedian who aimed for international recognition. To finance his film project, he sold valuable properties and incurred substantial debts. After nearly completing the film, he still needed to finish the edits. Unfortunately, he shared too many details about the film during a radio interview.

Before its official launch, a pirated version was leaked, leading to significant financial setbacks. He faced overwhelming debt and never fully recovered. By the time he attempted to make a comeback in his old age, his vigor had diminished, and he passed away without regaining his former fame.

His experience offers us an important lesson: premature revelation can destroy even the best plans.

Key Lessons from the Story

1. Safeguard your work until it’s finished.

2. Avoid divulging too much; not everyone needs to be informed of your plans.

3. Recognize timing; a good idea at an inappropriate time can result in disaster.

4. Be aware of the enemy’s strategies; the adversary often takes advantage of carelessness.

Biblical Examples of Stealth & Wisdom

The Bible provides compelling illustrations of discretion:

Joseph revealed his dream too early, resulting in envy and betrayal (Genesis 37). However, when he later shared God’s wisdom in Egypt, it brought salvation to nations.

Nehemiah quietly assessed the damaged walls of Jerusalem before beginning the rebuilding process (Nehemiah 2:1116). He realized that timing and secrecy were critical to accomplishing God's mission.

Jesus often evaded unnecessary public scrutiny until the designated moment of His sacrifice (John 7:30).

Each example illustrates that timing, discretion, and wisdom are crucial in fulfilling God’s plan.

Reflection: Guarding Your GodGiven Vision

Are you currently developing a new project, business concept, or ministry? Consider the following:

Am I revealing too much too early?

Do I have mentors or reliable friends who can provide confidential guidance?

Am I waiting for God’s ideal timing, or am I hurrying ahead out of fear or pride?

When we practice discretion, we not only protect ourselves but also respect God’s process.

Prayer for Wisdom & Discretion

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for today’s lesson. Assist me in walking wisely and discerning when to speak and when to stay silent. Safeguard my vision, protect my purpose, and keep me aligned with Your timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

CONCLUSION

Stealth technology is not just for aircraft; it serves as a spiritual principle for believers. By controlling your words, safeguarding your vision, and trusting in God’s timing, you can evade unnecessary assaults and move confidently toward your destiny.

Remember: not everything is meant to be shared. Some matters are best kept between you, God, and a select few trusted mentors until the moment is right.

Stay below the radar until God states, “Now.”
