Topic: SEEK FOR DIRECTION

Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Growing up in my country, a medication known as "Sunday, Sunday" was widely used, as parents would remember to give it to their children routinely every Sunday. Though intended to treat malaria—a serious health issue at the time—this approach led to misapplication and tragic consequences. Ultimately, the government had to ban the drug.

Today’s lesson reminds us that yesterday's solutions may not solve today's challenges. Change is the only constant in life, which is why scientists and seekers alike need to explore new possibilities.

In 1 Samuel 30:8, when the Philistines kidnapped David's wives, David earnestly inquired of the Lord, asking if he should pursue them. The Lord affirmed his pursuit. Conversely, in 1 Samuel 23:2-4, when King Saul pursued David, the Lord revealed that the citizens of Keilah would betray him, despite David having helped them. This illustrates David's wisdom in seeking God's guidance rather than relying on past experiences.

OUR LESSON TODAY: Every problem has a unique solution. Today's challenges require fresh perspectives, not just yesterday's methods.

REFLECTION: Take a moment to reflect on areas in your life where missteps occurred by not seeking the Lord’s guidance.

PRAYERS: Dear Heavenly Father, we ask for your direction today. Help us to trust in your unwavering love. In Jesus' name, amen.
