Jackson was considered a protégé of Martin Luther King Jr. He followed in his footsteps, becoming a powerful theologian and a strong advocate for civil rights.


His Most Popular Speech:

As a powerful pioneer of civil rights and a racial pathfinder, Jesse Jackson was known for several impactful speeches. His most famous speech was delivered at the 1984 Democratic Rainbow Convention Rally, where he urged attendees to embrace America’s diversity—not just the differences among races, but as a source of strength. He also encouraged the poor, turning a 50-minute convention program into a revival that drew approximately 33 million viewers.


Keep Hope Alive:

In 1988, Jackson coined the phrase "Keep Hope Alive," which resonated widely and became a rallying cry for his followers during his campaign.
