Topic: “HAKUNA MATATA”

Anchor Scripture: Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:6 KJV.

HAKUNA MATATA: is a powerful Swahili phrase that embodies the essence of living without worries. Thanks to the 1984 Disney animation "The Lion King," this phrase has gained even greater significance today.

Today's devotional explores the topic of "Worry." What troubles me? Worry is a state of anxiety, a burden we often carry. Yet, history shows that worry does not resolve our problems.

Understanding Worry:

What does worry do?

* It instills fear.

* It blocks our reasoning.

* It obscures our vision, causing us to lose sight of solutions.

* It hinders our ability to hear God, making it difficult to grasp His words.

* It adds to our burdens.

* It drains our energy, paving the way for depression, which can lead to oppression.

We all experience this: the worries about what is, what will be, and what might happen.

Biblical Encouragement:

However, Philippians 4:6 reminds us: “Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, let your requests be made known to God."

A popular hymn beautifully states that we bear unnecessary pain when we do not take everything to God in prayer. Additionally, 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that God is faithful—not allowing us to be tempted beyond our capacity while always providing a way of escape.

There is nothing new under the sun, as Ecclesiastes tells us. Whatever you face today, remember that others have faced similar struggles.

Counsel:

Surround yourself with those who uplift and believe in you. Seek environments where you are celebrated, not merely tolerated. Keep hope alive; trust that this is just a phase—it will pass, for life unfolds in phases. Avoid individuals who continually diminish your spirit, and refuse to view yourself as an object of pity.

Reflection:

Throughout human history, worry has never been the solution to any problem. You may wonder, "Why wouldn’t I worry?" It's natural to feel this way. Acknowledge that it's human to worry, but let it be brief. Afterward, go to God in prayer, and He will reveal Himself as the ever-faithful guide.

Assignments for Today:

Let's carry our burdens to Calvary, for Jesus is our burden-bearer. Trust in Him. May peace abound in Jesus' name, amen. (Remember, if you live in sin, you are not truly free. Consider saying the prayer of salvation.)

Prayer of Salvation:

Lord Jesus, I come to You today as a sinner. Please wash me with Your precious blood and set me free from sin, in Jesus' name, amen.

Congratulations!
