Anchor Scripture: “For I am the LORD, I change not: therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” — Malachi 3:6 (KJV).
One of the significant challenges facing Christianity today is the idea that traditional Christianity is no longer relevant in today’s world. Many Christians prioritize good works over the teaching found in Ephesians 2:8-9, which states that we are saved by the grace of God and not by our own works, so no one can boast about their achievements.
Additionally, we often desire God to bless our plans at all costs. When God doesn’t
meet our expectations, we mistakenly believe that He is not answering our prayers.
Another area where traditional values are eroding is the belief that Christianity is merely a matter of the heart, rather than being reflected in our outward behavior. Some people adhere to a slogan that suggests outward appearances do not matter.
For instance, today, there are transgender pastors and others claiming to be part of the body of Christ. But is God truly old-fashioned? The answer is found in our anchor scripture; He is the same today, yesterday, and forever.
Our Assignment: .Today, we need to understand that God has not lowered His standards. The same God that Jesus spoke about during His time on earth is still the same today, regardless of the state of the world.
Assignment (2): Set aside time for a personal retreat with God today. Reflect on the teachings of the Bible, and establish biblical standards for yourself.
Shalom!
