Topic: BEAT THE ODDS

Anchor Scripture: Deuteronomy 31:6**

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Welcome! Be richly blessed as you read in Jesus' name. Amen.

The "odds" refer to the unpleasant, strange situations and challenges we encounter in life. When the odds are against you, nothing seems to work. So, what do you do when you’ve prayed, tithed, given to the needy, and sown seeds of faith?

WHAT TO DO

Pray Desperate Prayers: A desperate period calls for desperate prayers. Blind Bartimaeus, in his need for healing, cried out, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Luke 18:38). Despite being told to be quiet, he shouted even louder, leading to his sight being restored.

Consider the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-22), who believed that merely touching the hem of Jesus’ garment would heal her. Her faith brought her healing.

Another inspiring figure is Jabez. Though he was the least successful in his family, he stood out among his brethren. In a desperate cry to God, he asked for help, and God granted his requests (1 Chronicles 4:9-10). The odds seemed insurmountable for Israel as they neared the Promised Land, facing giants. Yet, they emerged victorious.

Many biblical figures have triumphed against overwhelming odds through prayer and faith. Even in our world today, there are many who medical Science gave up on, yet survived their illnesses..

What challenges do you face that seem too great to bring to God? Remember, your struggles are not unique. Others have faced similar trials and emerged stronger. God promises to provide a way of escape, (1 Corinthians 10:13 )enabling you to overcome every trial. Even when medical professionals have given up, miracles occur that defy explanation.

OUR LESSON TODAY:

Recognize that God can lead you out of any difficult situation, no matter how impossible it seems.

REFLECTION:

Let us delve deeper into the stories of biblical figures who overcame the impossible and learn from their triumphs.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, we come to You today. Grant us the grace to withstand the odds around us and the faith to trust in Your divine providence. In Jesus' name, amen.
